Job Overview: The Analyst position at WJCF, which is affiliated with CHAI, involves delivering critical program insights by leveraging various data sources and field insights. The role is essential for supporting the National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC) in its mission to eliminate vector-borne diseases (VBDs) such as malaria and lymphatic filariasis. The Analyst will be responsible for data collation, analysis, and visualization, as well as identifying innovative approaches and technologies to support elimination goals. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical abilities and a commitment to improving health outcomes in India.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will consolidate and clean data from multiple sources, conducting multi-dimensional analyses to provide actionable insights to officials at NCVBDC. They will develop and socialize both pre-defined and custom reports and dashboards for use by NCVBDC and state functionaries in program planning and decision-making. Additionally, the Analyst will create technical briefs and fact sheets to communicate findings across government organizations, document program progress through reports and presentations, and undertake periodic visits to states and districts to identify challenges and address gaps. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public health, statistics, economics, life sciences, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience. Professional experience in dynamic environments such as life science research, impact evaluation, or public sector advisory is essential. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation (M&E), data analytics, and dashboard development for funded projects is also required. High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary, along with the ability to work independently in high-pressure settings and adapt to new challenges.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in public health, statistics, economics, life sciences, or related fields is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in analytical skills and relevant subject matter expertise.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, or at least 1 year for those with a Master’s degree. Experience in dynamic and innovative work environments, particularly in life sciences, impact evaluation, or public sector advisory roles, is highly valued. Previous involvement with monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and dashboard development for funded projects is also crucial.
