Job Overview:
The position of Recruitment Consultant for Peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security is designed to enhance the consolidation of Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) information and optimize data collection across Madagascar. The consultant will play a crucial role in gathering and analyzing data that is vital for the effective implementation of peace and security initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of the local context and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners. The consultant will be expected to provide strategic insights and recommendations based on the data collected, contributing to the overall objectives of the UNDP's peace and security programs in the region. The position is expected to last for a period of 90 days, spread over four months, during which the consultant will engage in various activities aimed at strengthening the data collection processes and ensuring that the information gathered is relevant and actionable.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing PBF information and data collection methods in Madagascar.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify gaps in data and information related to peace and security.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing data collection processes across the country.
  • Analyze collected data to provide insights and recommendations for improving peace and security initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and present them to relevant stakeholders, including UNDP management and local partners.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for local partners on effective data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Ensure that all data collection activities adhere to ethical standards and respect the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to local partners in the implementation of data collection strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data collection efforts and make adjustments as necessary. 1
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive database that consolidates PBF information for future reference and use.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, particularly in the context of peace and security.
  • Strong understanding of the political and social dynamics in Madagascar, especially related to peacebuilding efforts.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies in a similar capacity is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis software and tools is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in social sciences, international relations, peace and conflict studies, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in data analysis or project management would be beneficial.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in data collection and analysis, particularly in the fields of peace and security, development, or humanitarian assistance. Experience working in Madagascar or similar contexts is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Madagascar. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of local languages would be an asset.

Additional Notes:
This position is a consultancy role with a contract duration of 90 days, spread over four months. The consultant will be expected to work full-time during this period. The recruitment process is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
