Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Officer position at IOM in Guinea involves overseeing the logistics and supply chain operations within the organization. The role is crucial for ensuring that the various projects implemented by IOM are supported by efficient supply chain management. The officer will be responsible for managing the receipt and dispatch of international and local orders related to IT equipment, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures. This position requires a proactive approach to inventory management, quality control, and warehouse operations, ensuring that all goods are stored safely and securely. The officer will also play a key role in coordinating with different departments to meet their logistical needs and will be expected to maintain accurate records of all inventory movements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: ensuring the receipt and dispatch of international and local orders for IT equipment; managing the inventory of IOM assets in the Wave/Oracle system; labeling all existing materials and removing damaged items; supporting effective warehouse management; ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards; receiving food and non-food items according to established quality standards; conducting systematic quality checks upon receipt of goods; maintaining accurate records of all inventory movements; ensuring that damaged or contaminated goods are not stored; assisting in the coordination of reintegration projects; regularly checking stock levels and reporting to management; and completing monthly and annual physical inventories of stock.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a secondary or university degree from an accredited institution, preferably in logistics management or procurement. They should have documented professional experience, with a minimum of three years of experience in logistics or five years for candidates with a secondary education. Experience working with international organizations or other international cooperation institutions is an advantage. Knowledge of IOM procurement systems is a plus, along with strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and SAP. Familiarity with international supply chain operations and key donor regulations is also beneficial.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a secondary or university degree from an accredited institution. The degree should preferably be in logistics management or procurement, with accredited universities being those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of documented professional experience in logistics, or five years for candidates with a secondary education. Candidates should have progressively responsible experience in logistics management, with a preference for those who have worked with international organizations or in international cooperation contexts. Familiarity with IOM's procurement systems and a good understanding of the socio-economic context in Guinea are also advantageous.

Languages:
Proficiency in French is mandatory for all candidates, both oral and written. Knowledge of English and one of the local languages of Guinea would be an asset. The official languages of IOM are English, French, and Spanish, and language proficiency will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
