Job Overview: The Senior Finance Officer position is crucial for providing comprehensive financial support for two significant U.S. Government-funded projects managed by FHI 36
The role involves leading financial monitoring for the EpiC Thailand project, which aims to enhance the national HIV/AIDS response, and the Global Healthsecurity" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security project, which strengthens Thailand's public health systems. The officer will be responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Government regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to financial management, including overseeing the complete cycle of financial payments, accounting, and subrecipient financial management. The Senior Finance Officer will also coordinate audits and ensure that financial data is accurately reported and analyzed to support decision-making processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Finance Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing financial and accounting guidance to EpiC partners, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government contract regulations, monitoring monthly project expenditures, and producing financial reports. The officer will conduct pre-audits on financial documents, maintain the project's accounting system, and prepare annual budgets for U.S. Government submission. Additionally, the officer will coordinate with auditors and ensure that findings are addressed, review and certify financial reports, and manage year-end closing processes. The role also involves training finance staff and supporting the development of budgets and financial reports for the project.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience. They should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and fiscal control practices. The ability to handle financial data accurately and efficiently is essential, as is experience with international NGOs and government organizations.
