Job Overview:
The Partnerships and Visibility intern at UN Women Nordic Liaison Office will engage in a variety of tasks that enhance understanding of UN communication strategies and methods. The intern will gain insights into global challenges and the international community's current efforts towards gender equality. This internship is designed to provide excellent learning opportunities, allowing the intern to participate in UN Women’s engagements with diverse stakeholders throughout the Nordic and Baltic regions. The role is integral to advancing gender equality on a global scale and offers a unique perspective on the workings of the UN and its partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Partnerships and Visibility intern, the individual will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of communication strategies that promote UN Women’s mission. Duties may include assisting in the preparation of advocacy materials, conducting research on gender equality issues, supporting the organization of events and meetings, and engaging with various stakeholders to enhance visibility and partnerships. The intern will also be expected to contribute to social media campaigns, assist in drafting reports and presentations, and help maintain databases of contacts and resources relevant to UN Women’s work in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate an understanding of gender equality issues. Proficiency in using social media platforms for advocacy and outreach is essential. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with UN Women’s mission and objectives, as well as experience in research and analysis, will be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in a relevant field such as international relations, gender studies, communications, or social sciences. Recent graduates may also be considered, provided they have relevant experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.

Experience:
While prior experience in a similar role is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to gender equality, communications, or international development will be beneficial. The internship is designed for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the field and develop their professional skills.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UN Women. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Nordic or Baltic languages, would be considered an asset and enhance the candidate's profile.

This internship is part-time and may be offered on a flexible schedule to accommodate the intern's academic commitments. The duration of the internship is typically between three to six months, depending on the intern's availability and the needs of the UN Women Nordic Office.
