Job Posting Organization: The UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) is the lead UN agency focused on reproductive health and rights, established to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The organization operates globally, with a mission to deliver life-saving reproductive health products and services. UNFPA's strategic plan for 2026-2029 emphasizes three transformative results: ending preventable maternal deaths, fulfilling unmet needs for family planning, and eliminating gender-based violence. The Supply ChainManagement Unit (SCMU) was operationalized in January 2022 and is self-funded, focusing on enhancing the capacity of governments and partners in supply chain management for UNFPA programs.

Interns will work on-site at the UN City headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will be expected to engage in full-time work. The internship aims to integrate candidates into the team effectively, allowing them to contribute to the mission of UNFPA while gaining valuable insights into supply chain management, logistics, procurement, and other related fields. Interns will be involved in projects that support the delivery of reproductive health products and services, ensuring that they understand the complexities of supply chain operations in a humanitarian context.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be expected to assist in various tasks related to supply chain management, including but not limited to: supporting data analysis and reporting for supply chain operations; assisting in logistics planning and execution; contributing to procurement processes and vendor management; engaging in customer service and support activities; participating in governance, risk, and compliance assessments; aiding in communications and outreach efforts; and collaborating with human resources and ICT teams to enhance operational efficiency. Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes being currently enrolled in or having recently graduated from a university program. Candidates should have completed at least one full academic year in their undergraduate studies or be pursuing a postgraduate degree. This educational foundation is essential to ensure that interns can engage meaningfully with the tasks and responsibilities assigned to them during their internship.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in the field of development and supply chain management. Any relevant coursework, volunteer work, or internships in related fields will be considered advantageous. The ability to adapt to new environments and work collaboratively with diverse teams is crucial for success in this role.
Languages: Proficiency in at least one of the UN's working languages (English or French) is mandatory. Additionally, fluency in one of the official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish) is required. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication within the UNFPA and with its partners.
Additional Notes: The internship is a full-time position based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and candidates must be logistically and financially prepared to undertake this commitment.
