Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position within the UNDP Unit of Information and Technology Management (ITM) in Copenhagen offers a unique opportunity to engage with ICT and Green Energy initiatives under the Smart Facilities initiative. Interns will be immersed in a dynamic and informal atmosphere, working closely with various partners from over 170 countries. The role is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world experience, providing interns with tasks that have a direct global impact on development efforts. Interns will be part of the Business Development Group, where they will be encouraged to express creativity and collaboration while tackling exciting challenges. The internship aims to empower students to become socially responsible and innovative leaders, enhancing their academic life experience while contributing to sustainability initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will coordinate with technical teams for marketing support and collaborate with UN Country Offices on promotional efforts for Smart Facilities projects. Responsibilities include facilitating ongoing projects, managing project documents, conducting market research, and updating project dashboards. Interns will lead internal communications, organize workshops, and improve processes for project implementation. They will work directly with engineers and administrative colleagues, translating technical knowledge into accessible materials. Additional duties involve supporting the Chief of Smart Infrastructure with operational data analysis, preparing presentations, developing service catalogs, and identifying potential projects on UN procurement websites. Interns will also improve templates and tools for decision-making and support the development of narratives on Smart Facilities projects.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program, be in the final year of a first university degree program, have recently graduated with a relevant degree, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program. Experience with Adobe Suite for visual materials, PowerBI for project documentation, and Office 365 tools is advantageous. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools is also beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate professional or academic experience in market research related to technical solutions in UNDP Member States, and strong communication skills are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in a relevant field such as sustainability, engineering, information technology, or business development. Enrollment in a postgraduate program or final year of a bachelor's degree is required, with a focus on areas related to the internship's responsibilities.

Experience:
Interns should possess a foundational level of experience relevant to the duties outlined, particularly in areas such as project management, marketing, or customer service. Experience in sustainability, circular economy, or smart cities is considered an advantage, along with any practical experience in using data analysis tools and software.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional UN languages, particularly French or Spanish, is a strong advantage, enhancing communication within the diverse UNDP environment.

  • Interns will receive a monthly stipend of USD 1,000 for in-person internships, while remote internships will have a reduced stipend based on the duty station location. Interns are responsible for securing their own medical insurance and must provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan. The internship does not guarantee further employment with UNDP, and interns are expected to work full-time, with flexibility allowed for educational commitments. All costs related to the internship, including travel and accommodation, are the responsibility of the intern.
