Job Overview:
The internship position is within the Operations and Investments team of the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) at UNHCR. This team is responsible for coordinating financial planning, monitoring, and reporting on performance across the PSP fundraising network. The intern will engage in various activities that support the team's objectives, including data analysis, resource management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in resource management and refugee issues, and they will be expected to contribute actively to the team's efforts over a six to eight-month period. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while supporting the mission of UNHCR.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including assisting in data quality assurance activities related to PSP’s Annual Implementation Plans and Quarterly Reports. They will support resource management activities by monitoring implementation rates and budget reallocation processes. The intern will also assist in budget implementation planning and reporting tasks to generate insights and analyses. Additionally, they will provide support on financial matters concerning National Association Partners, including preparing agreements and disbursement documentation. The intern will help develop and revise internal and external guidance documents, assist in planning and executing meetings and events, and provide procurement and administrative support to the team and the wider section as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university-level degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Business and Economics, or International Relations. They should be fluent in English, with advanced writing and editing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential, along with strong analytical and organizational skills. Attention to detail, tech-savviness, and a genuine desire to learn are also important. Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are required.

Educational Background:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must either be recent graduates (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or current students in a graduate or undergraduate program from an accredited university. Candidates should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a relevant field. A completed university degree is not a requirement for internships, but candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by UNHCR.

Experience:
The internship is designed for individuals who may not have extensive professional experience but possess relevant academic background and skills. Candidates should ideally have some experience with online content and knowledge management platforms, as well as familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods. Previous internships or volunteer experiences in related fields will be advantageous but are not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and candidates with knowledge of a second UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish will be considered favorably. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time internship role with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Interns who do not receive financial support from an external party will receive an allowance to help cover living expenses. Travel costs for interns coming from outside the duty station will be reimbursed for their outward and return travel. The internship typically lasts between two to six months, with the possibility of extension up to eight months for full-time internships and twelve months for part-time internships. Candidates are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and health insurance coverage, and they must provide proof of good health before starting the internship.
