Job Overview:
The Audio/Visual Technician position is integral to the smooth operation of meetings and conferences held at the UN City in Copenhagen and other locations. The role involves providing comprehensive audio, video, and webcasting services, ensuring that all technical aspects of meetings are executed flawlessly. The technician will be responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of AV services, including the management of equipment such as cameras, microphones, and presentation screens. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure during high-stakes events. The technician will also be involved in training staff on the use of AV systems and will play a key role in enhancing the overall conferencing experience for both internal and external clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and implement audio/video/webcasting services for meetings and conferences, ensuring all technical requirements are met.
  • Manage the operation of AV and interpretation systems, including preventive maintenance and liaising with AV companies for repairs.
  • Program and operate AV systems, stage lights, and handle webcasting and videoconferencing during events.
  • Record key meetings and events, ensuring proper dissemination of recorded materials.
  • Rearrange conference halls and meeting rooms to meet specific technical and physical requirements.
  • Collaborate with UN City staff to anticipate and improve required services, including providing technical drawings for event setups.
  • Serve as a dedicated resource for WHO key meetings, ensuring all equipment is operational and providing AV technical services as needed.
  • Act as a technical resource for the Regional Administrative Services Manager and Operations Officer on AV systems and streaming services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include completion of secondary school or equivalent. Desirable qualifications include training in audio-visual systems installation, operation, and maintenance. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in webcasting technology, videoconferencing, and audio-visual digital editing. Skills in Visio software or equivalent are also desirable. Candidates should possess strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to producing results and respecting cultural differences.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education or its equivalent. Additional training in audio-visual systems is preferred but not mandatory. Educational qualifications must be recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of experience operating video/audio/webcasting equipment in support of meetings and conferences. Experience in coordinating with external contractors and technicians is essential. Relevant experience working with WHO or in the UN, as well as supporting international conferences in various locations, is desirable.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English is essential, with advanced proficiency considered a mother tongue. Working knowledge of French, Russian, or Danish is desirable, particularly for candidates who can communicate effectively in multiple languages.

Additional Notes:
This position offers an attractive remuneration package, including an annual net base salary starting at DKK 368,765, subject to deductions for pension contributions and health insurance.
