Job Overview:
The Non Health Supplies Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the technical and operational aspects of resource management within UNFPA, specifically focusing on demand planning for non-health programme supplies across country offices. This position involves participating in comprehensive needs assessments, validating forecasts, and contributing to procurement plans and funding gap analyses. The analyst will work under the supervision of the Demand & Supply Planning Specialist, collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure that non-health products, such as dignity kits and emergency supplies, are effectively procured and delivered where needed. The role requires a strategic approach to planning and management, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize supply chain processes and enhance the overall efficiency of UNFPA's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Non Health Supplies Planning Analyst will be responsible for a variety of key functions, including:
  • Demand and Supply Planning: Leading the forecasting process for non-health products, collaborating with country offices to ensure accurate planning, providing technical guidance for needs assessments, and developing supply plans to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Capacity Strengthening: Conducting assessments to identify gaps in capacity and developing plans for initiatives to strengthen non-health programme supplies planning.
  • Thought Leadership: Advocating for UNFPA's leadership in supply chain management, engaging with industry specialists, and contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Partnerships: Acting as the technical focal point for procurement of non-health goods, managing supplier relationships, and advocating for expanded services with potential partners.
  • Collaboration: Maintaining effective collaboration with stakeholders to ensure tailored solutions for supply chain interventions.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Evaluating supply chain planning processes, identifying gaps, and providing data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Additional Duties: Carrying out any other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief of the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU).

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, commerce, or a related field. Professional certification in procurement and supply, such as CIPS Level 3-4, is considered an asset. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in supply chain, logistics, and planning, preferably within the humanitarian or NGO sector. Demonstrated experience in managing the supply of non-health products and familiarity with UN/international organization procedures is desirable. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills are essential, along with proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, commerce, or a related field is required for this position. Additionally, a professional certification in procurement and supply, such as CIPS Level 3-4, would be advantageous and enhance a candidate's qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in supply chain management, logistics, and planning. Experience should preferably be within the humanitarian or NGO sector, with a focus on planning and managing the supply of non-health products. Familiarity with working in a multi-cultural environment and understanding UN/international organization procedures is desirable, as is experience using supply chain management software and ERP systems.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of French or another official UN language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
