The intern will engage in monitoring the implementation of international recommendations on refugee, IDP, and statelessness statistics, which are crucial for enhancing the statistical inclusion of these populations in national data systems. The role involves working closely with EGRISS staff and members to support survey implementation, improve participation rates, maintain monitoring tools, and contribute to annual reporting and dissemination activities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in international statistical standards, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination, all of which are essential for a career in humanitarian action, forced displacement, or related fields.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support EGRISS monitoring & evaluation activities, including implementation, evaluation, and reporting of the Global Annual Inclusion (GAIN) 2026 survey. This includes assisting in updates to survey questionnaires, implementing the survey schedule, and maintaining communication with respondents.
Monitor survey participation and response rates, prepare progress updates, and follow up with non-responding institutions.
Compile, organize, clean, and validate collected data, and assist in analyzing the data using statistical techniques.
Prepare survey results for reporting and dissemination, including tables, figures, and maps.
Support the implementation of the EGRISS Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework.
Document lessons learned and best practices from the GAIN survey.
Assist in preparing the EGRISS Annual Report and other dissemination products.
Support the organization and coordination of meetings, including documentation of decisions and logistical arrangements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the EGRISS Secretariat.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in official statistics and operational data, possess excellent organizational skills, and have strong written and verbal communication abilities. The candidate should also have proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or Python. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is desirable. A keen interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies for data analysis is an asset. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a background in statistics, social sciences, international relations, or a related field. Experience: While prior experience in statistical analysis or survey implementation is beneficial, it is not strictly required. Additional Notes: This is a full-time internship role, requiring 40 hours of work per week from Monday to Friday. Interns will receive an allowance to help cover living expenses, and travel costs will be reimbursed for those coming from outside Denmark. The internship typically lasts for six months, with the possibility of extension. Candidates must be able to provide proof of health insurance and a certificate of good health.
