Job Overview: The Fundraising Acquisition Associate will play a crucial role in managing and expanding UNHCR's Individual Giving acquisition activities in Denmark. This position requires a creative, results-oriented individual who is adept at utilizing various digital channels for fundraising. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing donor acquisition campaigns across multiple platforms, including digital and offline channels. The role involves strategic development, channel expansion, and collaboration with various teams to ensure that fundraising targets are met. The candidate will report directly to the Head of Individual Giving and will work closely with other team members to optimize performance and secure key performance indicators (KPIs).
Duties and Responsibilities: The Fundraising Acquisition Associate will manage donor acquisition campaigns across various channels and thematic priorities, ensuring a strong return on investment. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing paid search and Google Ads campaigns, creating compelling copy for campaigns, managing relationships with media suppliers for print advertising, and implementing SMS acquisition strategies. The associate will also assist in lead generation tactics, collaborate with communications colleagues to optimize campaigns, and monitor campaign performance against KPIs. Additional duties include updating donation landing pages, tracking campaign performance, managing media plans, and supporting the PSP Denmark team with ad hoc activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary education, preferably with a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, IT studies, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required, or two years with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in a relevant field. Experience in marketing, fundraising, or communications, particularly within a not-for-profit organization, is essential. Candidates should have solid experience in content production, digital campaign development, and performance analysis, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management.
Educational Background: The ideal educational background includes secondary education with a preference for a degree in fields related to marketing, business administration, communications, or IT studies. Relevant certifications in marketing or fundraising would be advantageous, as would any additional training in digital marketing or project management.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in marketing, fundraising, or communications. Candidates with two years of experience and a higher degree in a relevant field will also be considered. Experience in a not-for-profit organization or in a marketing role within a subscriber or member-based organization is highly desirable. Proven ability to meet fundraising targets and drive results is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English and Danish is mandatory, with excellent writing skills in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset, particularly in a multicultural environment.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time position based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a contract initially issued until the end of the year but intended to continue on a yearly basis.
