Job Overview:
The Logistics Associate position is integral to the Logistics Management Services (LMS) Team within the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) at UNFPA. Reporting directly to the Freight Management Associate, the Logistics Associate will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including other SCMU colleagues, Programme Division, Humanitarian Response Division, Regional Offices, Country Offices, and external partners. The role is pivotal in ensuring that logistics operations are managed efficiently, supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations related to programme supplies, reproductive health commodities, and humanitarian supplies. The Logistics Associate will also provide guidance and support to customers on logistics processes and procedures, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of supplies, and maintaining compliance with UNFPA policies and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Associate will be responsible for a variety of duties including: supporting the planning and execution of logistics operations for programme supplies; providing guidance on logistics and inventory management; processing customer orders and logistics transactions; coordinating with suppliers and logistics service providers; monitoring inventory availability and stock movements; supporting transportation planning and shipment execution; creating and processing inventory and logistics transactions within UNFPA systems; maintaining operational records; monitoring supplier and logistics service provider performance; contributing to logistics reporting and data analysis; participating in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives; and collaborating with colleagues across SCMU and other offices to ensure effective supply chain operations. The role may also involve carrying out additional duties as required by the Chief of SCMU.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a university degree at the Bachelor level in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Transport Planning, International Commerce, or a related field being an asset. A qualification at Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-UK) Level 3 Certificate in Logistics and Transport is also considered an additional asset. Candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in managing international logistics or pre-positioned stock operations, with at least 2 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, and stock management. Experience in development or complex humanitarian environments, as well as proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, is required. Knowledge of global supply chain security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and compliance regulations is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop partnerships.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion of secondary education as a minimum requirement. A university degree at the Bachelor level in relevant fields such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Transport Planning, or International Commerce is preferred. Additional qualifications such as a Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-UK) Level 3 Certificate in Logistics and Transport are considered advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in logistics management, with a focus on international logistics and stock operations. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience specifically in logistics, warehousing, and stock management. Experience in development or complex humanitarian operating environments, particularly in low-resource countries, is highly valued. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and knowledge of supply chain security and compliance regulations are also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile and ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
