Job Overview:
The State Engagement Lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Program will be responsible for driving on-ground program implementation to enhance the delivery of Type 1 Diabetes services across public health facilities in Chhattisgarh. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the state's public health system, governance structures, and policy landscape, as well as the barriers to care that individuals with Type 1 Diabetes face. The State Engagement Lead will design and operationalize program interventions, shape the implementation model, and facilitate effective stakeholder engagement to ensure high-quality and sustainable care delivery. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in program execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Manager (Non-communicable Diseases) to develop the program strategy and implementation plan for the state.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with relevant government stakeholders, development partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure regular engagement with key stakeholders at the state level to facilitate optimal communication regarding program roll-out and progress, seek necessary buy-in and approvals, and identify and mitigate key risks.
  • Support the implementation of programmatic activities at the state level, including planning activities and monitoring implementation.
  • Assist the state program team and field staff in engaging with local/district level stakeholders to support the roll-out and monitoring of key programmatic interventions.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges to implementation and develop suitable mitigation strategies.
  • Design and implement processes for the collection, management, and review of programmatic data to monitor progress and inform strategy.
  • Develop compelling presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including progress narratives and update notes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any domain, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a demanding, results-oriented environment. They should demonstrate the ability to manage large projects, project design, and team management. Experience working with government stakeholders and familiarity with the Indian public health system is advantageous. Candidates must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word is required, along with the ability to absorb and synthesize a broad range of information, including technical details. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Hindi are essential, as is a willingness to travel extensively within and outside the program states and districts.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in any relevant field is required for this position. The educational background should ideally align with the responsibilities of managing health programs and engaging with public health systems.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, particularly in roles that involve project management, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation within the health sector. Experience working with government entities and understanding the public health landscape in India will be beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
