Job Overview:
The IT Finance and Human Capital Management (ITDAI FH) Unit within the IT Department of the IMF is seeking a Contractual Workday Systems Engineer. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and supporting the Workday Platform, which is essential for managing human capital and financial operations within the organization. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Unit Chief and will be responsible for delivering integration solutions for Workday HCM, developing and maintaining Extend applications, and providing general technical support and enhancements for Workday HCM applications. The position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and IT teams, to ensure that new business requirements are effectively gathered and that solutions are configured in compliance with the necessary IT controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in Workday Integrations and Workday Extend tools, and familiarity with at least three Workday HCM modules is also desirable. Additionally, experience with Microsoft Azure API Management and Workforce Planning is considered a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements for enhancements to the Workday platform, including Extend applications or new functionality.
  • Recommend solutions or alternative methods to meet business requirements during both implementation and post-implementation phases.
  • Coordinate and support technical testing for changes in Workday, ensuring comprehensive scope and coverage of test cases while maintaining testing documentation.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing, coordinating and communicating with project teams and validating results.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by users related to Workday, including functionality, reports, and integrations.
  • Follow and enforce established procedures for addressing incidents, service requests, and enhancements, ensuring compliance with IT change management processes.
  • Maintain system stability and monitor the platform, ensuring best practices in security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, integrations, and configuration are implemented.
  • Support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of integrations with third-party vendors and internal systems.
  • Load, manipulate, audit, and report on data, making complex mass changes as needed, including building inbound and outbound EIBs. 1
  • Define, support, and maintain processes for granting security within Workday, including role definitions, security assignments, recertification of access, and role maintenance. 1
  • Manage and facilitate internal and external audit activities, responding to audit findings and providing necessary artifacts as requested by auditors. 1
  • Serve as a partner across Finance, HR, IT, and other key stakeholders to document, test, and remediate controls and compliance-related matters. 1
  • Stay current with Workday updates and new features, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization. 1
  • Coordinate testing and documentation for semi-annual upgrades, utilizing Workday Community to research and network with other users to brainstorm system solutions.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires educational development typically acquired through the completion of an advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field of study, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, is acceptable. Specialized skills and knowledge are essential, including strong experience in supporting and implementing Workday, proficiency in Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and EIB, as well as experience with Workday Extend or Workday Orchestrate. Familiarity with data integration and API integration is also desirable, along with Workday training/certification, particularly in HCM Core, and other functional areas, security, and integrations. An in-depth understanding of security models and approaches to implementing security architecture within Workday is crucial.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field of study, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, with the requisite years of professional experience as outlined in the qualifications.
