Job Overview: The Senior Specialist, Prospect Management plays a crucial role in supporting WWF's fundraising efforts by implementing a strategic, data-informed approach to prospect management. This position is responsible for optimizing fundraising portfolios, analyzing pipeline performance, and providing operational support to enhance prospect progression and fundraising outcomes. The Senior Specialist collaborates closely with gift officers and Development teams to ensure effective prospect management practices are in place, ultimately contributing to the organization's overall fundraising success. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and strong communication abilities to facilitate productive discussions and drive actionable insights that align with WWF's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison for prospect management within Development teams, including Major Gifts, Gift Planning, Annual Giving, and Philanthropic Partnerships.
Facilitate prospect management meetings to advance prospect progression and maintain pipeline health, ensuring timely updates in the CRM.
Collaborate with gift officers to optimize portfolios through data analysis and insights, supporting coordinated donor strategies.
Monitor prospect pools and pipeline performance to identify trends and opportunities for action.
Analyze metrics related to portfolios and prospect cycles to inform fundraising strategies and improve effectiveness.
Lead projects that translate prospect management strategies into actionable processes and tools for Development teams.
Provide training and resources to promote effective prospect management practices across the organization.
Ensure accurate and timely data management in the CRM to support informed decision-making and fundraising effectiveness.
Act as a bridge between Prospect Management and cross-functional partners to foster alignment in processes and data standards.

Support the implementation of evolving prospect management practices and frameworks to continuously improve fundraising support.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in prospect management, development operations, or fundraising analytics.
Proven experience supporting fundraising teams through effective prospect management practices.
Proficiency with CRM systems such as Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce, or Raiser’s Edge NXT, along with reporting tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fundraising data and support accurate forecasting.
Experience in developing and implementing processes while maintaining data quality and managing operational workflows.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, ideally in a field related to business, finance, or nonprofit management. Advanced degrees or certifications in fundraising or related fields may be advantageous but are not mandatory.
Experience: Candidates should possess at least 4 years of relevant experience in prospect management or related fields, demonstrating a progressive understanding of fundraising operations and analytics. Experience in a nonprofit environment, particularly in roles that involve direct support of fundraising teams, is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and based in Washington DC.
