Job Overview:
The Development Officer for Annual Giving plays a crucial role in identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with high-value donors and prospects. This position is responsible for overseeing a portfolio that includes Leadership Partners and Partners in Conservation, with the goal of significantly increasing their annual contributions. The officer will work closely with the Director to develop and implement strategies for donor engagement and stewardship, ensuring alignment with WWF's fundraising objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to donor relations, including regular communication and personalized outreach to deepen connections and enhance donor support. Additionally, the officer will conduct research on potential donors, prepare materials for individual giving staff, and collaborate with various teams to create comprehensive engagement opportunities for donors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Officer will be tasked with raising funds to meet the Annual Giving team goals. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing cultivation and stewardship strategies for high-value donors, monitoring performance against set objectives, and executing a work plan that aligns with both team and individual goals. The officer will maintain high-touch personal contact with donors, ensuring regular engagement and communication. They will also identify potential major gift prospects for further qualification, prepare relevant materials for development staff, and monitor donor relationships to ensure appropriate interaction levels. The officer will respond to donor inquiries, collaborate with other teams to provide engagement opportunities, and assist with various projects as needed. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with a solid understanding of development practices and techniques. A minimum of four years of demonstrated success in fundraising, particularly in donor cultivation and solicitation, is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively. Knowledge of conservation issues is preferred, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive culture within the organization. The ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts is essential, as is the flexibility to adapt to changing situations and demands.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is mandatory for this position. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training related to fundraising, nonprofit management, or a related field that provides a solid foundation for understanding development practices and donor engagement strategies.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in fundraising, with a proven track record in cultivating and soliciting donations from high-value donors.
