Job Overview:
The position of Consultant in Operational Risk Management is critical to the Financial and Operational Risk Division (RSM/FOR) of IDB Invest. The consultant will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of operational risk by implementing and enhancing the operational risk management framework. This includes developing policies, standards, and methodologies that align with the organization's goals. The consultant will be responsible for maintaining a robust internal control environment and ensuring that operational risk management processes are effectively integrated into finance and treasury operations. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, as well as fostering a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization. The consultant will also be involved in preparing risk assessments, monitoring key risk indicators, and providing training to enhance risk ownership and accountability across various business units.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting the implementation and maintenance of operational risk management processes; developing and enhancing the Operational Risk Management Framework; conducting Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs); performing operational risk assessments for key business processes; providing oversight of risk assessments and management action plans; reviewing business processes to identify operational risks and control gaps; developing and monitoring operational risk appetite metrics; supporting the identification and reporting of operational risk incidents; designing scenario analysis and stress testing exercises; monitoring remediation plans from various risk activities; preparing operational risk dashboards and management reports; maintaining accurate operational risk records; performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of operational risk data; and providing training and awareness activities to strengthen risk culture within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in risk management, particularly in operational risk. They should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in financial and treasury operations, risk management, or auditing. Familiarity with risk standards such as GAAS, ISA, AS, ISO, Basel, and COSO frameworks is essential. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in applying operational risk management tools and developing operational risk management programs as a second line of defense. Proficiency in Microsoft tools and data analytics is also required, along with the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CRISC, PRM, FRM, CFM, or COSO internal control certification are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires at least 10 years of relevant experience in the fields of financial operations, risk management, or auditing. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in peer institutions, regulatory agencies, or international organizations, with a focus on risk, audit, compliance, and financial processes. Experience in evaluating and monitoring operational risks and implementing best practices in operational risk management is crucial.

Languages:
Proficiency in both oral and written English and Spanish is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Portuguese is considered a plus and may be beneficial in enhancing communication within the diverse operational environment of the IDB Group.
