Job Overview: The Client Services Unit of the HR department at the IMF is seeking a highly motivated Project Analyst (PA) who possesses strong generic HR skills along with good quantitative and analytical abilities. The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The PA will be part of a team of other PAs, providing extensive support to HR Business Partners (HRBP) and Strategic HR Partners (SHRP). The role involves supporting the implementation of HR initiatives, as well as gathering and analyzing data related to departmental workforce, staffing, and the overall work environment. The PA will play a vital role in enhancing the HR functions and ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support on various HR metrics, including but not limited to Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), staffing trends, hiring practices, and performance management completion rates. The PA will contribute to the design and implementation of HR initiatives aimed at fostering an open and inclusive environment within the department. Daily responsibilities will include supporting recruitment efforts by tracking documentation, entering data into Workday (WD), and following up with multiple stakeholders. The PA will also manage job change transactions, track contractual end dates, and perform contractual extensions as necessary. Additionally, the PA will prepare supporting materials for key HR processes such as the Annual Talent Management Exercise (ATME), recruitment, and talent reviews. The role will also involve performing WD transactions for Long-term Experts (LTXs), Visiting Scholars (VSs), and non-advertised mid/long-term contractual positions once specifications are completed by departments. Providing basic guidance and support to staff on WD-related matters will also be part of the responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a combination of training and experience equivalent to the completion of secondary school education, supplemented by a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Specific qualifications include proficiency in MS Excel, including basic functions and formulas, as well as HR data management, organization, and visualization skills. Familiarity with analytical and statistical software packages, such as Power BI, is essential for presenting data effectively. Candidates should have a general understanding of core AI concepts and the AI landscape, including its strengths and limitations, and be able to integrate AI into workflows through structured thinking and disciplined prompting. Strong organizational and planning skills are necessary to thrive in a fast-paced environment, along with a willingness to learn and navigate new technologies. A general understanding of HR concepts and programs is also required, along with the ability to build relationships by listening to and addressing the needs of clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a secondary school education, with additional training or coursework in human resources, data analysis, or a related field being highly desirable. Candidates with further education in HR management or analytics will be viewed favorably, as this will enhance their ability to perform the duties of the role effectively.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in human resources or a related field. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing large and complex databases, developing summary analyses, and utilizing statistical applications and techniques. Experience in HR operations and objectives, as well as the ability to handle multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines, is crucial for success in this role.
