Job Overview: The Financial Analyst position is situated within the World Bank Group's Treasury, specifically in the Client Solutions & Structuring department (TRECS). This role is pivotal in supporting analytical, operational, and reporting activities related to Treasury Client Solutions and Asset and Liability Management. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage strong quantitative skills and attention to detail to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative environment. The Financial Analyst will monitor and analyze currency and interest rate exposures, contribute to enhancements in asset and liability management processes, and prepare timely and accurate reporting outputs. This position requires a proactive approach to risk measurement and analytics, particularly in relation to Treasury Client Solutions activities, and involves supporting transaction execution through data validation and process coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling currency and interest rate exposures across Treasury portfolios and transactions; contributing to the enhancement of asset and liability management processes, tools, controls, and analytical workflows; preparing timely, accurate, and decision-useful analysis, reporting, and data outputs for Treasury and partner units; supporting risk measurement and analytics for Treasury Client Solutions activities, including cross-currency and market risk analysis; and providing analytical and operational support for transaction execution, which includes trade setup, data validation, and process coordination. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related technical field. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas such as treasury, capital markets, asset and liability management, derivatives, foreign exchange, market risk, or quantitative finance is required. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to work with large data sets and financial or business databases. Proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis is mandatory, while experience with programming tools and market data platforms such as Bloomberg or Reuters is desirable. Knowledge of treasury systems, derivatives, local currency operations, or risk management processes is also advantageous.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related technical discipline. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complex financial concepts and analytical techniques that will be applied in the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in fields related to treasury operations, capital markets, asset and liability management, derivatives, foreign exchange, market risk, or quantitative finance. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of financial markets and the ability to apply analytical skills in a practical context.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as strong written and oral communication skills are essential. While additional languages are not required, they are considered an advantage and may enhance a candidate's profile.
