The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the OSCE's Drupal-based websites, as well as the implementation of new web-based information systems and technical improvements. This role requires active participation throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, technical specifications preparation, design, documentation, development, testing, deployment, security management, and auditing of web systems. The incumbent will work closely with the Chief of Digital Strategy and Communications, the Spokesperson/Head of Communications, and the Chief of the Media Relations Unit to ensure the effective delivery of web services and support for organizational activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Web Developer include: ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the organization's Drupal-based websites; administration, monitoring, and resource planning of web services; liaising with external consultants and vendors; providing quality assurance and participating in quality improvement activities; supporting COMMS and organizational website activities; developing and delivering comprehensive training programs related to the use and management of the organization's websites; supporting organizational activities during project planning and implementation; taking part in COMMS support to stakeholders; performing basic content operations on the OSCE website; supporting the COMMS team in live streaming events and managing internal communications platforms; and performing other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: The position requires completed secondary education, along with specialized training in computer science, information systems, software engineering, information design, or a related field. Candidates must have at least 6 years of relevant work experience in planning, design, development, maintenance, and support of Drupal-based websites. A university degree in a relevant field may substitute for up to two years of work experience. Additionally, candidates should have experience in managing software development projects using agile methods, gathering and documenting information systems requirements, and designing and developing web applications using Drupal, PHP, CSS, MySQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Knowledge of relational databases, system administration for Linux, and web accessibility is also required.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess specialized training in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or software engineering. A university degree in a related field may be considered as a substitute for up to two years of relevant work experience, which is essential for eligibility.
Experience: The position requires at least 6 years of relevant work experience in the fields of planning, design, development, maintenance, and support of Drupal-based websites. Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is approximately EUR 5,410, subject to social security deductions, and OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Austria. Social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are typically made at Step 1 of the OSCE salary scale, with the possibility of an initial appointment at up to Step 3 in exceptional cases.
