Job Overview: The UNV Market Research and Supplier Engagement Clerk position is designed to support UNDP's procurement processes by conducting market research and engaging with suppliers. The role involves identifying potential suppliers, analyzing market conditions, and preparing comprehensive reports to inform upcoming tenders. The clerk will track bidder participation, assist suppliers with registration in the Quantum system, and maintain an organized supplier database. This position is crucial for ensuring that procurement strategies are data-driven and effective, ultimately contributing to the success of UNDP's projects in Ukraine. The clerk will work under the supervision of the Procurement Specialist and will be expected to deliver timely and high-quality support to UNDP and its beneficiaries.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UNV Market Research and Supplier Engagement Clerk will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: conducting thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and analyze relevant market conditions; preparing detailed reports based on research findings; tracking and following up with bidders regarding their participation in tenders, documenting reasons for participation or non-participation; assisting suppliers in completing their registration in the Quantum system, ensuring compliance with all requirements; developing and maintaining an up-to-date supplier database categorized by goods, services, and works; launching Requests for Information (RFIs) through the Quantum system and compiling analytical reports on supplier responses; conducting market research on prices and benchmarks to support bid evaluation processes, particularly for construction works; providing data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance procurement strategies and supplier engagement; and integrating the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment by promoting voluntary action and engaging with communities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the UNV Market Research and Supplier Engagement Clerk position should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in using procurement systems and databases is essential, along with excellent communication skills to effectively engage with suppliers and stakeholders. Familiarity with market research methodologies and procurement processes is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to the values and principles of the UN, including respect for diversity and inclusion.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, supply chain management, or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications in procurement or supply chain management would be an advantage. Candidates should have a solid understanding of market research techniques and procurement practices, as well as the ability to analyze data and generate reports.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in procurement, market research, or supplier engagement. Experience working in an international organization or within the UN system is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and conducting market analysis to inform procurement decisions.
Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian and English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Russian, would be considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of suppliers and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the selected candidate will be responsible for organizing their own accommodation. The contract duration is specified in the vacancy announcement, with the possibility of extensions based on funding availability and performance. This is a full-time position, and the Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) provided is USD 1587 per month, which is intended to cover housing and living expenses. Additional benefits include medical and life insurance coverage, annual leave entitlements, and the possibility of learning leave. UN Volunteers are encouraged to engage in community activities and promote the concept of volunteerism throughout their assignment.
