Job Overview: The Reporting Volunteer in the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security field will play a crucial role in learning how to categorize incidents and maintain updated records related to security. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in international organizational communication while supporting the World Food Programme's mission. The volunteer will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Security Officer for WFP Ethiopia, assisting in the monitoring of media and other sources for emerging risks. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn about security reporting and incident management within a large humanitarian organization, and who are interested in contributing to the safety and security of WFP staff and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Reporting Volunteer include:
Assisting in monitoring various media outlets and other sources to identify and assess emerging risks that may impact WFP operations.
Supporting the accurate recording of security incidents in logs and records to ensure that all relevant information is documented and easily accessible.
Collaborating with the security team to coordinate responses to incidents affecting WFP staff, thereby gaining hands-on experience in effective communication and teamwork within an international context.
Learning to categorize incidents based on severity and type, contributing to the overall understanding of security challenges faced by the organization.
Engaging in regular communication with the Chief Security Officer and other team members to provide updates on security incidents and assist in the development of reports.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Reporting Volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:
Basic understanding of security protocols and incident reporting processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members.
