Job Overview: The consultant will provide sustained, high-quality technical operational coordination and content support to the Staff Wellbeing (SWB) team for a 12-month assignment. This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining global systems, and ensuring the smooth delivery of wellbeing programming across UNICEF Regional and Country Offices. The consultant will support the expansion of global systems, including the Peer Support Volunteer (PSV) Programme and the Staff Wellbeing SharePoint and Agora platform, ensuring that the SWB team meets its strategic objectives while maintaining a disability-inclusive and accessible approach to staff wellbeing. The consultant will be involved in various workstreams, including coordination, knowledge management, communication, and resource development, all aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of UNICEF staff.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key workstreams throughout the assignment period, including:
Coordination and Knowledge Management: Supporting the Improved Peer Support Volunteer (PSV) Programme and Wellness Advocate Programme, organizing wellbeing activities, maintaining global data systems, and assisting in the planning of global events.
Communication and Content Support: Managing SharePoint sites, drafting newsletters, and coordinating communication across internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Resource Development and Team Collaboration: Creating psychoeducational content, supporting global wellbeing strategies, and participating in internal working groups to integrate wellbeing into organizational strategies.
Knowledge-Sharing and Research Support: Conducting literature reviews on wellbeing and supporting internal learning sessions. Deliverables include a strategic coordination framework, emergency briefing systems, event implementation packages, and a year-end knowledge synthesis brief.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in administration, psychology, social work, public health, communications, or a related field. They should have at least 2 years of relevant administrative or coordination experience, preferably in wellbeing, mental health, HR, or development settings. Strong organizational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are essential. Familiarity with internal communication platforms and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a multicultural environment are also required. Experience working with disability-friendly settings and integrating wellbeing initiatives with a disability-friendly lens is highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as administration, psychology, social work, public health, or communications is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of wellbeing and mental health in the workplace, as well as the administrative skills needed for effective coordination and support.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in administrative or coordination roles, ideally within the context of wellbeing, mental health, or human resources. Experience in settings that prioritize disability inclusion and wellbeing initiatives is particularly valuable, as is familiarity with data tracking systems and organizational protocols.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance the consultant's ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders within UNICEF.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is for a 12-month period, with a focus on full-time engagement. The role emphasizes the importance of inclusivity and diversity, particularly in relation to disability-friendly practices.
