Job Overview:
The ICT Support Officer position is crucial for the effective functioning of the IOM's operations in Ecuador. This role involves providing comprehensive ICT solutions and services, ensuring that the IT infrastructure is robust and efficient. The officer will be responsible for end-user support, which is vital for maintaining the productivity of the organization's missions. The position requires close collaboration with the Resources Management Officer and the ICT Central Team to ensure that all IT aspects of IOM operations are supported effectively. The officer will also play a key role in the administration and monitoring of local services, systems, and networks, addressing performance issues, and ensuring compliance with ICT policies. The expectation is that the officer will not only respond to immediate technical issues but also contribute to the strategic evolution of IT services to meet operational needs promptly.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ICT Support Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including administering and providing technical support for ICT systems, coordinating IT implementation, and ensuring compliance with established ICT policies. Specific duties include monitoring local services and systems, analyzing performance problems, and recommending solutions to enhance functionality and reliability. The officer will provide end-user support, resolving ICT issues through various communication channels, and ensuring the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of all IT components. Additionally, the officer will administer systems and workstations, support corporate applications, and assist with monitoring and troubleshooting of network equipment. Training end-users and junior ICT colleagues, maintaining documentation, and recommending equipment replacements are also key responsibilities. The officer will participate in quality improvement measures and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completed university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant professional experience in Helpdesk or Service Desk roles. Alternatively, candidates with a completed high school degree and five years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. The organization values accredited universities listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have a recognized educational background.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a completed university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of the role and effectively supporting the organization's ICT needs. Candidates with a high school diploma may also qualify if they have significant relevant experience, demonstrating that practical experience can complement formal education in this field.

Experience:
The position requires extensive experience in direct user technical support and troubleshooting of computer, network, and communication equipment. Candidates should have at least four years of relevant experience in administering Windows computers and Office365 tools, as well as experience in a LAN/WAN networking environment. Proven experience in supporting Office 365 and cloud-based solutions is essential, along with basic knowledge of cybersecurity incident response and compliance tasks. This level of experience ensures that the officer can effectively manage the organization's ICT needs and respond to challenges as they arise.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for all applicants, both oral and written. Given that IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process. Candidates may be assessed through written and/or oral evaluations to ensure they meet the language requirements necessary for effective communication within the organization.

The position is subject to local recruitment, meaning that only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Ecuador will be considered.
