Job Overview:
The Driver position at UN Women involves providing reliable and safe driving services to the UN Women Representative and other officials, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of discretion, integrity, and responsibility. The Driver will also support the operations and program staff by providing driving services and basic administrative support to the UN Women Country Office. This position is crucial for facilitating the movement of personnel and ensuring that the office operates smoothly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and meeting official visitors at the airport.
• Ensure the proper use of the vehicle by maintaining daily logs, monitoring fuel consumption, and providing inputs for maintenance plans.
• Conduct day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean, in good working condition, and making minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance and first aid kits.
• Provide general administrative and logistic support, assisting office staff with filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications.
• Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education is required, along with a valid driver’s license. Candidates must demonstrate excellent driving skills, knowledge of local driving rules and regulations, and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. A client-oriented approach and the ability to work with diverse groups are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position, ensuring that the candidate is legally permitted to operate a vehicle in the country.

Experience:
At least 2 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required. Candidates should have a proven safe driving record and experience in navigating local roads and conditions.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, along with fluency in the local language. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and would be considered an asset.
