Job Overview:
The Projects Officer (PRW Program) will play a crucial role in managing and administering the Peers for a Respectful Workplace (PRW) program within the Mediation Office of the IMF. This position requires a strong background in conflict resolution, excellent communication skills, project management expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a small, multinational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the PRW program operates smoothly, addressing workplace concerns, and fostering a culture of respect and trust within the organization. The role involves a combination of administrative duties, program management, training development, and outreach activities to promote the Mediation Office's services. The Projects Officer will report directly to the Head of the Mediation Office and will be expected to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive workplace issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • General administration of the Peers for a Respectful Workplace Program: Serve as the first point of contact for the PRW program, identifying needs and conducting evaluations. Manage the program's database, monitor PRWs' activity logs, analyze trends, and prepare reports. Coordinate regular meetings with PRWs and support their presentations to leadership. Manage access to confidential platforms and support training initiatives.
  • Election Process of the PRW Program: Plan and oversee the annual election process, liaising with IT and HR departments for implementation. Prepare communications regarding election results and conduct meetings with elected nominees.
  • Training and Support for PRWs: Develop and facilitate training programs for PRWs, review training materials, and coach PRWs on difficult cases. Organize workshops to maintain skills and make referrals to other dispute resolution offices as necessary.
  • Communication and Outreach: Promote the Mediation Office services, develop learning events, and implement marketing solutions to raise awareness. Prepare presentations and maintain office materials to ensure effective communication of the PRW program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Dispute or Conflict Resolution, Organizational Development, Law, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a university degree with a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. Internal candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience at grade A8 or equivalent. Specific requirements include experience in program management, conflict coaching, mediation, training development, data analysis, and strategic planning. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to produce high-quality materials for diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Dispute or Conflict Resolution, Organizational Development, Law, Human Resources, or Social Sciences. Candidates with a university degree supplemented by significant professional experience will also be considered. Internal candidates must have relevant experience at a specified grade level within the organization.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in program management, conflict resolution, and mediation. A proven track record in training development and delivery, as well as experience in managing caseloads and conducting research, is essential. Familiarity with strategic planning and execution of global events is also required. Experience in coordinating volunteers and working within a multicultural environment is an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in a second UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse workforce and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is classified under the A09, A10 levels within the IMF. Selected candidates will maintain their open-ended status if they are regular staff members. Contractual employees may receive a Term staff appointment, with potential extensions based on their current term status.
