Job Overview: The Project Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation) will play a crucial role in supporting the capacity strengthening of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria. This position involves working closely with the PLRCAP Project Manager and the team to manage day-to-day project activities and lead the implementation of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) components of PLRCAP projects. The role requires the coordinator to design and implement M&E plans, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports for donors. The Project Coordinator will also facilitate learning opportunities for partner organizations and represent PLRCAP at various forums. This position is vital for ensuring program quality and supporting the growth of local civil society organizations in Nigeria.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation) will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: designing and implementing M&E plans and results frameworks for PLRCAP projects; collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for project management and donor reporting; coordinating assessments, surveys, baselines, endlines, and evaluations; supporting project planning and compliance with work plans and budgets; monitoring project progress and adjusting plans as necessary; preparing high-quality programmatic and financial reports for donors; facilitating learning and development opportunities for partner organizations; and representing PLRCAP at trainings, meetings, and stakeholder forums. This role requires a proactive approach to project management and a commitment to delivering high standards of work.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s) in social sciences, information management, development studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years’ experience in M&E design and implementation for donor-funded projects is required, along with at least 3 years’ experience in project management or project support using recognized tools. Strong proficiency in MS Office and survey tools is essential, and knowledge of data analysis software is considered an asset. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment are also necessary for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s) in social sciences, information management, development studies, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent professional experience may also be considered. The role demands a strong foundation in M&E methodologies and project management principles, which are typically acquired through formal education and practical experience in the field.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in M&E design and implementation specifically for donor-funded projects. This experience should include report writing and project management or support, demonstrating familiarity with recognized project management tools such as Gantt charts and risk management strategies. Candidates should also have practical expertise in delivering M&E outputs and outcomes, showcasing their ability to manage projects effectively and contribute to the capacity building of NGOs.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. While English is the primary language of communication, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the local context in Nigeria.

The role is offered under a NORCAP national contract through NRC Nigeria and involves up to 30% travel within Nigeria.
