SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that has been operational for over 40 years. SI is particularly dedicated to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, which is a leading cause of death globally. Job Overview:
The Logistic Manager is responsible for overseeing logistics management at the assigned base, ensuring compliance with donor and SI procedures. This role involves implementing and supervising all logistics operations, organizing logistic support for programs, and assisting the field coordinator in enforcing safety rules. The Logistic Manager will also support, monitor, and train team members. The position is critical as SI has recently established operations in Gaza, facing challenges such as limited humanitarian experience among national teams, rapidly increasing operational volume, and restricted entry of goods into the Gaza Strip. The Logistic Manager will play a key role in transitioning the base towards more standardized logistic procedures while adapting to a fluid security situation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistic Manager's duties include managing logistics operations at the base, ensuring compliance with SI and donor procedures, organizing logistic support for ongoing programs, and training national logistic team members. The manager will also be responsible for procurement, supplies, and storage management in a conflict area, supporting the scaling up of operations in a volatile context, and managing the logistics team effectively. Additionally, the manager will assist in the completion of ongoing grants and ensure the implementation of safety rules within the team. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to changing circumstances.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and a similar position. Strong technical skills in procurement, supplies, and storage in conflict areas are essential. Experience in team management and capacity building is also required. Knowledge of LINK software is considered an asset. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background in logistics, humanitarian aid, or a related field is preferred. Specific degrees or certifications in logistics management or humanitarian assistance may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3-4 years in a similar logistics management role. Experience in conflict zones and managing logistics in challenging environments is crucial for this position.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset. Effective communication skills in both languages will be beneficial for interacting with local teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contract with a desired start date of January 1, 2026, and a mission duration until August 31, 2026, involving three rotations. The role is based in Gaza, with a rotation system of 14 days out of Gaza every 8 weeks. The salary starts from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses covered by SI. Expatriates will benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Deir-el-Balah have improved, with basic food items available in the market, although prices may be high. The working environment remains stressful, but there are opportunities for socializing with other international staff.
