Job Overview: The position of Individual Consultant for Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) System through NGP is crucial for the effective implementation of UNDP's projects in Pakistan. The consultant will be responsible for developing and overseeing the MRV system, ensuring that all monitoring and reporting activities align with UNDP's standards and the specific requirements of the projects. This role requires a deep understanding of project management, data analysis, and reporting methodologies. The consultant will work closely with project teams to gather data, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports that reflect the progress and impact of the projects. The consultant will also be expected to provide recommendations for improvements based on the findings from the MRV system, thereby contributing to the overall success of UNDP's initiatives in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Consultant include, but are not limited to:
Developing a comprehensive Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) framework that aligns with UNDP's strategic objectives.
Collaborating with project teams to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and data collection methodologies.
Conducting regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess implementation progress and gather qualitative and quantitative data.
Analyzing data collected from various sources to evaluate project outcomes and impacts.
Preparing detailed reports that summarize findings, highlight successes, and identify areas for improvement.
Presenting findings to stakeholders, including UNDP management and project partners, to facilitate informed decision-making.
Providing technical support and training to project staff on MRV processes and tools.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP's policies and procedures throughout the monitoring and reporting process.
Engaging with external stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs, to enhance collaboration and data sharing.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in monitoring and evaluation, project management, or a related field. A proven track record of developing and implementing MRV systems in development projects is essential. Familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures and standards will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. Proficiency in using data analysis software and reporting tools is also required.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Public Administration, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in monitoring and evaluation or project management will be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, with a focus on development projects. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP or similar agencies, is highly desirable. Proven experience in data analysis, report writing, and stakeholder engagement is essential for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Urdu or other local languages will be considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and project beneficiaries.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is set for a total of 80 working days spread over 12 months, commencing from the date of signing the contract. This is a consultancy position, and the consultant will be expected to work independently while adhering to UNDP's guidelines and standards. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and offers competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
