The organization operates in 26 countries and employs around 3,200 individuals, including expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and volunteers. Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the procurement strategy to improve the efficiency of aid delivery, with a strong emphasis on supply chain management. This position requires close collaboration with program teams to ensure that supply activities are prioritized over logistics operations. The coordinator will also address critical areas of cross-responsibility between logistics and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security to ensure comprehensive support and compliance. The initial months will focus on identifying the needs to nationalize the logistics coordinator position and supporting the transition of expatriate logistics managers to national logistics managers at the base level. The role is set against the backdrop of the ongoing humanitarian response in Ukraine, particularly in areas under government control, and aims to balance emergency response with early recovery interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to enhance the efficiency of aid delivery.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure seamless coordination of supply activities.
  • Address cross-responsibility areas between logistics and security to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Identify needs for nationalizing the logistics coordinator position and support the transition of logistics managers.
  • Monitor and evaluate logistics operations to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Provide training and support to logistics staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders involved in logistics operations.
  • Ensure that all logistics activities are conducted in accordance with SI's policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on logistics activities and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in logistics, business, or a related humanitarian field.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in a similar logistics position.
  • Strong technical skills in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proven training skills to enhance the capabilities of logistics staff.
  • Familiarity with SI processes and procedures is highly advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree in logistics, business, or a relevant field within the humanitarian sector. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of logistics operations in humanitarian contexts and to effectively manage supply chain processes.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3-4 years in a similar logistics role. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the challenges and dynamics of logistics in emergency and recovery settings, particularly in conflict-affected areas like Ukraine.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local staff and stakeholders, enhancing the effectiveness of logistics operations.

  • The role is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and offers a competitive salary starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses covered by the organization. The position includes a break system, allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates will also benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations.
