Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator will be responsible for directing and coordinating all administrative, accounting, and financial services associated with the mission. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial balance of the mission and compliance with Solidarités International procedures, donor requirements, and local laws. The Finance Coordinator serves as the main point of reference for financial management and acts as a liaison between the headquarters and the mission. The position requires collaboration with various departments, including Logistics, HR, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security, and involves managing a team that includes two deputies. The Finance Coordinator will also work closely with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director, Deputy Country Director for Program, and Program Coordinators across different sectors. The role is set against a backdrop of a high volume of diverse projects and a volatile context that demands flexibility and responsiveness to urgent needs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Coordinator's duties include overseeing all financial operations of the mission, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing and monitoring budgets, and conducting financial reporting and analysis. The coordinator will be responsible for closing the accounting year for 2025, managing key operational processes such as archiving and voucherization, and building capacity among local partners and staff. The role also involves ensuring that all financial documentation is accurate and up-to-date, facilitating audits, and providing financial training to staff. The Finance Coordinator will need to adapt to changing circumstances and respond to ad-hoc requests, including budget revisions and urgent reporting requirements. Additionally, the coordinator may need to travel to various bases in Sudan, where security constraints may be more significant.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in financial or accountancy studies. A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, along with 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar position. Strong technical skills in financial systems and tools, financial reporting and analysis, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong financial management capabilities and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's Degree in financial or accountancy studies. This advanced degree is crucial for understanding complex financial systems and ensuring compliance with various financial regulations and standards.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar finance coordinator role. During the assignment, there is a system of alternating work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
