IOM's mission includes providing support for economic recovery and reintegration in areas affected by conflict, such as Dnipropetrovska oblast in Ukraine, where they are currently implementing projects to assist war-affected communities.

Job Overview:
The National Trainer (Consultant) will play a crucial role in the project 'Piloting sustainable solutions for economic recovery and reintegration in Dnipropetrovska oblast.' This project, funded by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, aims to improve the conditions for sustainable economic recovery and reintegration of war-affected communities. The consultant will be responsible for developing training materials and conducting specialized training sessions for beneficiaries engaged in small-scale farming. The training will focus on successful farming practices and strategies to enhance household operations, ultimately contributing to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and income generation in the region. The consultant will work closely with IOM and local partners to ensure that the training is context-sensitive and meets the needs of the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key deliverables: 1) Develop comprehensive training materials on successful farming practices and strategies for improving efficiency in small household operations, including a training agenda, presentation, and hand-out materials by January 31, 202
  • 2) Conduct ten specialized in-person training sessions, each lasting four hours, for selected beneficiaries, facilitating discussions on enhancing household activities. 3) Compile and review inputs from the training sessions into a monitoring report that includes challenges encountered and lessons learned, to be submitted to IOM within one week after the completion of all training sessions. Performance indicators will include the successful development of training materials and the delivery of training sessions as planned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in social sciences, political sciences, public administration, economics, law, or international relations from an accredited institution. Additionally, at least two years of relevant work experience is required. Experience in developing training courses related to farming and household activities, conducting training sessions, and working in employment or business support initiatives is highly advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential, and experience with UN or NGOs is a plus.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant fields such as social sciences, political sciences, public administration, economics, law, or international relations. This educational background is crucial for understanding the socio-economic dynamics that affect the communities served by the project and for developing effective training materials and strategies.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, particularly in developing training courses and conducting training sessions. Experience in employment and business support initiatives will be considered an advantage, as it aligns with the project's goals of enhancing livelihoods and economic recovery. Familiarity with the challenges faced by war-affected communities will also be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian is mandatory for this position, as the training will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of English is considered an advantage, as IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish. Proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may involve written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will be expected to perform their services offline, with travel required to various hromada locations in Dniprovskyi and Kamianskyi raion of Dnipropetrovska oblast. The consultant will be responsible for their own travel costs and arrangements. The appointment is subject to funding confirmation and medical fitness certification. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan, but consultants must secure their own medical insurance for non-occupational incidents. IOM maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct and does not charge any fees during the recruitment process.
