Job Overview:
The Consultant (Video Maker) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Resilient Environment Project by creating high-quality video content for educational purposes. This position involves recording and editing video lessons for the course "Ten Principles of MCR2030 (Making Cities Resilient 2030)," which aims to enhance the resilience of municipalities in Rio de Janeiro. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that all video materials align with the project's visual identity and are accessible to diverse audiences, including those with hearing impairments. The consultant will work closely with UN-Habitat's operational and technical teams, reporting directly to the Head of the Brazil Office. The expected duration of this consultancy is six months, during which the consultant will deliver various video products, including an institutional video for the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Consultant (Video Maker) will have a range of responsibilities, including: a) Recording video lessons for the course; b) Editing video and audio content, adding descriptive subtitles, and integrating visual elements that align with the project's visual identity; c) Ensuring consistency across all videos and maintaining an organized multimedia archive; d) Utilizing their own licensed software and audiovisual equipment, taking full responsibility for any related costs or damages; e) Completing all required courses and training activities as indicated by the supervisor, including the mandatory BSAFE security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security course from UNDSS; f) Familiarizing themselves with United Nations security mechanisms and complying with them; g) Delivering a workplan document outlining the methodology for video editing and preparation; h) Recording and editing sessions of the course, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery of edited videos; i) Producing an institutional video that highlights the objectives and results of the Resilient Environment Project.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Film Studies, or related fields. Alternatively, candidates may possess an additional three years of relevant experience beyond the educational requirement. A minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and production is essential, with a portfolio available upon request. Experience in recording and editing video lessons or online courses is desirable. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or equivalent is required, along with basic skills in graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop. Familiarity with online meeting platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams is also desirable. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, strong planning and organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Photography, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Film Studies, or related disciplines. Alternatively, candidates with three additional years of relevant experience may also qualify. This educational background is essential for understanding the principles of video production and communication necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in video editing and production. Candidates should have a proven track record in creating educational content, particularly in recording and editing video lessons for online courses. Experience related to the United Nations or other international agencies is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational context in which the consultant will be working.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the project. Working knowledge of Spanish and English is desirable, as these languages are used within the United Nations Secretariat and the Regional Office. Proficiency in these languages will facilitate effective communication with diverse stakeholders and enhance collaboration within the project team.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is part-time (50%) with a total remuneration of BRL 15,690, distributed across three payments based on the delivery and approval of specific products. The contract is local, and only nationals from Brazil or candidates with a permanent visa in Brazil may apply. The contract's extension is contingent on the availability of funds and performance, and it is not automatic.
