The OSCE Secretariat, located in Vienna, provides operational and administrative support to field operations and other institutions, ensuring that the Chairpersonship's activities are effectively managed. The Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities (OCEEA) focuses on promoting economic prosperity and good governance among participating States, fostering cooperation to enhance security and stability. The OSCE engages external experts for short-term assignments to support its initiatives and communicate the impact of its projects to various stakeholders.
Job Overview: The primary objective of this roster call is to update the pool of experts available for temporary consultancy assignments in the field of graphic design. The selected consultants will be expected to contribute to various projects within the OCEEA, particularly in producing visual content that communicates the results and impact of the organization's activities. This role involves creating static and animated graphics for websites and social media, conceptualizing the graphic design of publications, and developing layouts for printed materials. The consultants will work closely with the Economic Governance Unit (EGU) and will be responsible for delivering high-quality visual outputs that align with the OSCE's communication strategies. The assignments will vary in duration, with an expected total of up to 180 working days within a calendar year, depending on specific needs and activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The International Consultant/Expert will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to: producing visual inputs for websites and social media platforms, which may include both static and animated graphics; conceptualizing the graphic design of OCEEA/EGU-related publications such as factsheets, handbooks, newsletters, roll-ups, and PowerPoint presentations; developing layouts for various printed materials, ensuring they are ready for online publication and printing; collaborating with the Senior Economic Officer and EGU to ensure that all visual outputs meet the organization's standards and effectively communicate the intended messages; integrating gender perspectives into design tasks and activities; and maintaining a high level of professionalism and adherence to the OSCE's Editorial Style Guide for Publications and Visual Identity Guidelines.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of work experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on logo and corporate identity design. A first-level degree in visual communication, graphic design, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education. Applicants should demonstrate excellent graphic design skills, particularly in logo and corporate identity design, as evidenced by an extensive portfolio showcasing their work. Proficiency in graphics and visualization tools, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite (including Illustrator and Photoshop), is essential. Familiarity with the OSCE Editorial Style Guide for Publications and Visual Identity Guidelines is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to integrate a gender perspective into their tasks and activities.
