Job Overview: As a Senior ERP Applications Assistant, you will play a crucial role within the Information and Communications Technology Services (ICTS) Section, specifically in the Functional Support Unit (FSU). Your primary responsibility will be to deliver enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications and services to all OSCE personnel across various field missions and institutions. You will analyze and document business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications for ERP systems, particularly in the domains of Human Resources, Finance, and Materials Management. Your role will also involve optimizing end-to-end business processes, leading the configuration and deployment of ERP enhancements, and providing second- and third-level functional support. Additionally, you will conduct training sessions to improve ERP adoption and recommend emerging features and tools to enhance operational efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of ERP practices, data governance standards, and audit requirements, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties and responsibilities as a Senior ERP Applications Assistant will include:
Analyzing and documenting business requirements and translating them into ERP functional and technical specifications across HR, Finance, and Materials Management domains.
Documenting and optimizing end-to-end business processes within the ERP ecosystem, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory frameworks.
Leading the configuration, testing, and deployment of ERP enhancements and new modules, ensuring quality and alignment with stakeholder expectations.
Coordinating patch management, upgrades, and data migrations with technical teams to minimize system disruption.
Delivering second- and third-level functional support, troubleshooting complex ERP issues, and acting as a liaison with vendor support teams.
Designing and conducting targeted training sessions and user enablement initiatives to improve ERP adoption and self-sufficiency.
Recommending emerging ERP features, automation tools, and analytics enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
Ensuring ERP practices align with organizational policies, data governance standards, and audit requirements.
Performing other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must have completed secondary education, supplemented by specialized training or formal studies in computer science. A first-level university degree in Finance, Materials Management/Supply Chain, HR, or Computer Science is desirable. Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Cloud HCM, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL are also desirable. You should possess a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in ERP functional analysis, configuration, and implementation, specifically using Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) and/or Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. A university degree in a relevant field may substitute for up to two years of working experience. Experience in business process integration and optimization across core ERP modules is essential, along with hands-on experience in developing ERP functional specifications and conducting user acceptance testing.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary education, with specialized training or formal studies in computer science. A first-level university degree in Finance, Materials Management/Supply Chain, HR, or Computer Science is highly desirable, as it provides a foundational understanding of the principles and practices relevant to the ERP applications you will be working with.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in ERP functional analysis, configuration, and implementation. This experience should specifically involve working with Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) and/or Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. Candidates with a relevant university degree may have up to two years of their experience requirement waived. Additionally, experience in business process integration and optimization across various ERP modules is essential, as well as hands-on experience in developing functional specifications and leading solution rollout activities.
Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory for this position. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required, as you will need to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence process owners. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English is the primary language of communication within the OSCE.
Additional Notes: The position is a fixed-term contract at the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna, with a monthly remuneration of approximately EUR 6,260, subject to social security deductions. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Austria, and social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. Appointments are typically made at Step 1 of the OSCE salary scale, with the possibility of starting at Step 3 in exceptional cases based on relevant experience or previous remuneration.
