Job Overview: The Private Sector Development Officer position is a critical role within the South Asia Department (SARD) of the Asian Development Bank. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a significant impact in the private sector development landscape in Asia. The officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive operational and technical support to the SARD Private Sector Development (PSD) team, ensuring that all initiatives align with ADB's institutional priorities. The role involves coordinating daily tasks, managing project pipelines, and supporting the annual work planning and budgeting processes. The officer will also oversee technical assistance activities, manage consultant recruitment, and ensure compliance with ADB's internal systems. Duties and Responsibilities: The Private Sector Development Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Front Office Coordination & Planning: Act as the operational hub for the PSD team, coordinating daily tasks, schedules, and workflows. Support annual work planning and budgeting processes, manage data for resource allocations, and track project progress.
Technical Assistance & Consultant Management: Oversee the lifecycle of technical assistance activities, including budgeting, procurement, reporting, and performance monitoring. Manage consultant recruitment and contract management, ensuring compliance with ADB's internal systems.
Data Analytics & Reporting: Utilize data frameworks to monitor PSD operations, generate quarterly reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders. Transform data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
Strategic Communications: Develop communication materials to promote PSD initiatives, collaborate with other teams to enhance visibility, and support internal and external engagement through storytelling.
Strategy, Programming, Project & Operational Support: Assist in the preparation of country partnership strategies and provide support for PSD-related projects, ensuring alignment with ADB's regional goals.
Knowledge Management & Learning: Document lessons learned from PSD operations, lead knowledge-sharing events, and maintain a centralized knowledge hub for team learning and onboarding.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Private Sector Development Officer position must possess a Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, or a related field, with advanced training preferred. A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience is required, including at least 1 year focused on public-private partnerships, private sector development, strategy, or commercial/investment banking. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, the ability to navigate complex organizational settings, and proficiency in standard software programs. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to guide junior colleagues in their work.
