Job Overview: As a Senior Investment Officer at ADB, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and executing direct equity investment opportunities that align with ADB's development objectives for the private sector. This position is situated within the Equity Investments Unit of the Private Sector Operations Department. Your responsibilities will include identifying potential investment opportunities through market research, analyzing the financial viability of these opportunities, and participating in due diligence missions. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the direct equity investment portfolio, preparing annual reports, and ensuring compliance with ADB's operational standards. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to work collaboratively with teams, and excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Investment Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties, including:
Project Processing: Identify and evaluate investment opportunities, conduct market research, develop financial valuation models, and participate in due diligence missions.
Monitoring of the Direct Equity Investment Portfolio: Prepare annual monitoring reports, analyze financial data, and ensure adherence to reporting obligations by portfolio companies.
Database Maintenance: Maintain legal and project-related databases, track portfolio characteristics, and oversee the application of transaction covenants.
Project Annual Reviews and Project Completion Reports: Conduct desk reviews, assess project performance, and prepare extended annual review reports (XARR).
Others: Perform additional tasks as assigned in line with the workplan.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting, with a preference for those holding a Master's degree or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, ideally in corporate finance, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of multilateral finance institutions' operational processes, possess excellent research and analytical skills, and have experience in building financial models for valuations. Strong leadership abilities to guide junior team members and a collaborative approach to teamwork are essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
