Job Overview:
The IT Operations Specialist position at WFP is crucial for maintaining the IT Service Desk and providing comprehensive support to all staff members working for WFP Ukraine. This role is primarily based in Kyiv and is expected to support approximately 150 colleagues, with a particular focus on senior management. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring that IT systems and networks are functioning optimally, implementing innovative IT solutions, and providing technical support for hardware, software, Microsoft applications, and cloud services. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to enhancing the overall IT experience for users. The specialist will also play a key role in data management, asset management, and reporting on IT investments, contributing to informed decision-making within the organization. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and its application in humanitarian efforts, and who is eager to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to maintain IT systems and networks, ensuring appropriate data security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and access controls, while addressing both local and wide area network issues.
  • Support users in maximizing the benefits of IT systems and services.
  • Implement innovative IT solutions aimed at improving and upgrading system performance, including supporting any necessary technology upgrades.
  • Gather and provide data and documentation to support the procurement of IT equipment and services, ensuring compliance with WFP rules and regulations.
  • Collate data and contribute to the preparation of accurate reports on IT investments and costs, providing valuable information to stakeholders for decision-making.
  • Ensure effective asset management by logging all equipment movements and maintaining accurate records.
  • Implement data analysis technical systems and stay informed about developments in the data industry.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive approach to IT support and service delivery.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on the latest IT trends and technologies relevant to the humanitarian sector.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of IT systems and networks, with a focus on data security and access controls. Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting, as well as experience with Microsoft applications and cloud services, is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Familiarity with procurement processes and asset management is also required. Additionally, candidates should have a proactive attitude towards implementing innovative solutions and improving system performance.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required for this position. Experience:
