Job Overview:
As the Chef de projet Atlas Logistique, you will report to the Pool & Preparedness Manager and be part of the Deployment Pole. Your role involves assessing emergency intervention possibilities and leading the opening of Atlas Logistique projects in new operational areas. The position requires you to implement the AL project, ensure compliance with contractual commitments between HI and funders, coordinate internal project management, and oversee external project coordination. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of AL activities, following the project strategy, adhering to safety regulations, and managing project reporting and capitalization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your main duties will include: implementing the AL project, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, coordinating internal project management and team leadership, managing external project coordination, ensuring the quality of AL activities in collaboration with the Specialist platforms, monitoring project strategy adherence, enforcing safety regulations and legal frameworks, and managing project reporting and documentation. You will also be expected to facilitate communication among team members and stakeholders, adapt project strategies based on field assessments, and contribute to the overall mission of HI in humanitarian logistics.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a background in humanitarian project management, light civil engineering, humanitarian logistics, or a related technical field. Experience in humanitarian project management in emergency or chronic crisis contexts is essential. Familiarity with humanitarian-to-humanitarian (H2H) logistics or programmatic logistics is required, and experience with light civil engineering projects is a significant advantage. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security contexts, possess strong organizational skills, and have a clear understanding of project cycles and priorities. Strong leadership, initiative, and interpersonal skills are also necessary.

Educational Background:
A degree in humanitarian project management, light civil engineering, logistics, or a related technical field is required for this position. Candidates should have formal training that equips them with the necessary skills to manage complex projects in challenging environments.

Experience:
The position requires substantial experience in humanitarian project management, particularly in emergency and crisis situations. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing logistics projects and be familiar with the unique challenges of humanitarian operations. Experience in light civil engineering projects is highly desirable, as is a background in H2H logistics.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is mandatory for this role, as effective communication with diverse stakeholders is crucial. Proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of partners and beneficiaries.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, starting in January 202
  • The position is based in Lyon but requires frequent travel to field locations. Benefits include meal vouchers, employer-sponsored health insurance, a managerial status with 34 vacation days and 13 RTT days annually for full-time employees, a monthly availability bonus of €620 gross (for deployable staff within 48 hours), per diem based on the monthly rate of the deployment country, a hardship allowance of €620 gross per month prorated for days spent in the field, and favorable telework agreements.
