Job Overview:
As a Chargé de Communication, you will be part of a team of seven responsible for producing most of the information content used for communication and fundraising actions across the Handicap International network, which spans eight countries. Your role will involve gathering information about the organization's actions in its intervention countries and at the international level, ensuring satisfaction for both internal and external clients while adhering to the organization's external communication strategy. You will contribute to optimizing communication actions through the sharing of content and resources, as well as developing skills and common tools. The position is crucial for identifying subjects for fundraising and communication, participating in the annual communication plan, and creating corresponding content to meet the awareness, private fundraising, and advocacy objectives of HI's national associations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identification of subjects for fundraising and communication: Participate in the development of an annual communication plan and create corresponding content to meet the objectives of awareness, private fundraising, and advocacy for HI's national associations (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, UK, US, Canada). Collaborate with field teams and advocacy teams to identify projects and beneficiaries in line with the external communication strategy. Collect information, photos, and videos remotely or during field trips for the HI network. Contribute specifically to the development of video projects and snack content.
  • Information gathering and content production related to programs and advocacy actions, including during humanitarian emergencies: Organize the collection of information from all possible sources (field, experts at headquarters). Write various content (articles, messaging documents, media materials, video scripts, social media posts) in line with the communication objectives and targets of national associations. Contribute to press relations projects: organize interviews, press visits to the field.
  • Provision of information to the eight national associations of the HI network: Contribute to the editorial calendar (planning topics, anticipation) and produce content for the HI network. Contribute to content dissemination tools (photo database, video database, website). Make available the information collected by each national association.
  • Participation in cross-cutting links between the field and the Collection and Communication Directorate: Participate in the reception, briefing, and training of spokespersons and program directors, preparing for emergencies on the communication-collection aspect. Provide support and advice on national or regional communication initiatives in the field.
  • Act as a communication reference within the organization, particularly for programs: Provide occasional support in developing communication plans and tools for programs. Promote the HI brand and the rules and principles of communication (protection of personal data, obtaining consent).

Required Qualifications:
- A Bac+5 degree from an IEP, business school, communication school, or a university degree in communication is required.
- Excellent general knowledge and a strong interest in international issues are essential.
- An expert level in written and oral communication is mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have a significant level of experience in communication roles, particularly in international settings. Experience in fundraising communication, advocacy, and crisis communication will be highly valued. Familiarity with the non-profit sector and humanitarian work is also advantageous, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to navigate the challenges and opportunities within the organization.
