The officer will be responsible for updating and maintaining donor reporting requirements, preparing high-quality proposals and reports, and ensuring compliance with donor expectations. The role involves close collaboration with various sections within UNICEF, including the Communications Team and Programme Sections, to ensure that donor proposals and reports are of the highest quality. The officer will also be tasked with monitoring funds utilization and grant expiry, conducting research on donors, and coordinating donor engagements. This position is vital for sustaining UNICEF's humanitarian and development programs, particularly in light of the increased funding needs due to the Rohingya crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
Update and maintain information on donor and programme reporting requirements and templates.
Provide section chiefs and field offices with regular updates on reporting requirements and follow up to ensure timely submissions of proposals and reports.
Collaborate with relevant sections to prepare high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, and donor reports, ensuring adherence to donor requirements.
Conduct quality assurance of proposals and reports, including gathering information, editing, and branding.
Ensure visibility requirements are communicated and collected for reporting purposes.
Support sections in submitting grant extensions and programme change requests to donors.
Monitor funds utilization and ensure alignment with donor conditions.
Conduct research on donors and prepare briefing notes for donor meetings.
Coordinate donor engagements and support the development of internal and external briefing documents. 1
Provide training and technical assistance to staff and partners to improve the quality of proposals and reports. 1
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the UN Volunteer Donor Relations Officer position should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values, including care, respect, integrity, trust, accountability, and sustainability. Experience in donor relations, fundraising, or resource mobilization is highly desirable. Experience: Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in donor relations, resource mobilization, or a related field. The candidate should demonstrate a track record of successful proposal writing and donor reporting, as well as experience in managing relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages would be an asset, as it would facilitate communication with local partners and stakeholders.

The UN Volunteer Donor Relations Officer will be expected to work full-time and may be required to travel within Bangladesh, particularly to Cox's Bazar.
