The Senior IT Officer, Business Solutions I (AI Solutions Officer - Knowledge) position is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit of the World Bank Group. This role is focused on delivering transformative digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and deploying ethical and secure AI applications that address complex business challenges. This includes leading a team of AI engineers and data scientists, staying updated on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and collaborating with various stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into existing enterprise systems. The position requires a strong emphasis on performance monitoring, documentation, and adherence to AI governance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards, ensuring that all solutions align with the organization's ethical guidelines and data privacy requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior AI Solutions Engineer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading the design and implementation of AI agents and applications that address complex business problems; managing and mentoring a team of AI engineers and data scientists to ensure the delivery of high-quality AI solutions; conducting research to stay informed about the latest AI/ML advancements and incorporating innovative techniques into enterprise products; collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into workflows; establishing success metrics for AI models and continuously monitoring their performance; producing architectural blueprints and technical documentation for stakeholders; ensuring compliance with enterprise standards for data privacy and responsible AI use; and acting as a thought leader on AI applications by publishing best practices and influencing the organization's AI strategy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Master’s) with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Additionally, a proven track record of integrating enterprise systems with AI agents and applications is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to design end-to-end AI solution architectures and develop technical roadmaps that align with emerging technologies and long-term sectoral priorities. Expertise in data pipeline design for both structured and unstructured data is also required, along with strong programming skills in Python and experience with MLOps practices.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree accompanied by significant relevant experience (10+ years) will also be considered. The role demands a strong foundation in technical subjects related to AI and machine learning, as well as familiarity with enterprise systems and data management.

Experience:
The position requires a substantial level of experience, specifically 8+ years for candidates with a Master’s degree or 10+ years for those with a Bachelor’s degree. This experience should encompass a comprehensive understanding of AI technologies, enterprise system integration, and the development of AI-driven applications.
