Job Overview: The IT Officer, Business Solutions I (Software Engineer) position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidency. This position is designed for an experienced Technical Lead & Project Manager who will oversee the deployment of enterprise-scale low-code platforms and manage application delivery across the World Bank’s fiduciary domains. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and governance of low-code platform projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance standards. The role requires a strong background in low-code ecosystems, integration strategies, and agile product delivery, as well as the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. The position aims to enhance the Bank Group's capacity to deliver innovative digital solutions that meet the needs of its clients and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IT Officer include providing technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, leading the planning and execution of low-code platform deployments, and managing application projects. The candidate will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of low-code/no-code application platforms, lead and mentor a team of developers, design scalable technical architectures, and ensure adherence to architectural best practices. Responsibilities also include defining project scope and objectives, managing stakeholder engagement, overseeing risk management and compliance, diagnosing production issues, and promoting best practices in low-code development. The role requires strategic thinking to balance technical feasibility with business value, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and embedding Generative AI capabilities into applications. The candidate will also be responsible for creating reusable components, driving integration with enterprise systems, and actively participating in agile ceremonies to ensure alignment and transparency in delivery.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of project management experience. Additionally, candidates should have at least 4 years of hands-on development experience using low-code application platforms, including building web and mobile applications, and integrating with external systems via APIs. A proven track record in IT project management, particularly in low-code platform delivery, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong understanding of integration architectures, experience with ALM/DevOps, and advanced expertise in at least one enterprise low-code application platform. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills in a global environment are also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree is acceptable if accompanied by significant project management experience. Relevant certifications in low-code platforms or project management methodologies are preferred and can enhance a candidate's profile.
