Job Overview:
The Senior Investment Officer position within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services (MAS) Industry Group at IFC is crucial for supporting the organization's strategic priorities. This role involves covering investments in various sectors, including global manufacturing, services, agribusiness, health, and education. The MAS sectors are vital for providing essential goods and services, creating jobs, and stimulating economic growth, particularly in developing countries where they can account for a significant portion of economic activity and employment. The successful candidate will be based in Singapore and will work closely with regional and global teams to develop new business opportunities, execute transactions, and manage portfolio investments. This role requires a strong background in investment, particularly in agribusiness and forestry services, and the ability to lead projects from business development to exit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Investment Officer will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders, including government officials and regulators, to identify and act on opportunities for repeat business. The officer will collaborate with clients to enhance the value of IFC's investment and engage in discussions with investment officers to gather insights for improving business development and transaction structuring. Responsibilities also include supervising the collection of lessons learned across the portfolio, conducting market intelligence to stay informed of emerging trends, leading assessments of ratings and valuations, negotiating waivers and amendments, performing credit risk assessments, and overseeing the portfolio management work of analysts and junior investment officers. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying gaps and creating a macro view of the portfolio's financial, compliance, and risk status.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or economics, along with 12-15 years of relevant experience. This experience should include a proven track record in business consulting, investment banking, or operational roles within the sector. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand and enable market creation opportunities across multiple countries, maintain long-term client engagement, and build extensive networks within the sector. A strong understanding of country strategies and the ability to engage effectively with government officials are also essential.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is required. Candidates with expertise in specific sectors or industries will be preferred. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of managing investments and understanding complex financial transactions.

Experience:
The position requires 12-15 years of investment experience, particularly in managing clients within the agribusiness and forestry services sectors. Candidates should have strong deal structuring, client negotiation, and legal documentation coordination experience. Familiarity with capital markets transactions, both debt and equity, is preferred, along with a comprehensive understanding of business, social, environmental, and developmental issues related to these sectors.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. While no additional languages are specified as preferred, proficiency in other languages relevant to the regions of operation may be beneficial.
