Job Overview: The Operations Analyst position is situated within the Vice President’s front office for the Asia & the Pacific (APAC) region at the IFC. The role is pivotal in supporting the Vice President in executing IFC’s program in Asia, which includes engaging with various stakeholders such as the Board, IBRD, MIGA, and external partners. The analyst will be responsible for providing analytical and operational support across a range of tasks, ensuring that IFC’s growth strategy (IFC 2030) is operationalized effectively. This involves stimulating investment activities, building a robust pipeline for private sector investments, and fostering collaboration opportunities to maximize impact. The analyst will coordinate information gathering efforts across multiple units, including Investment, Upstream, Partnerships, Financial Controller, and Strategy, to advance IFC’s investment ambitions and enhance its role in mobilizing private capital.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Analyst include supporting the Regional Vice President (RVP) in implementing the work program in Asia, engaging in detailed discussions with subject matter experts to understand the status and timelines of various workstreams, and ensuring alignment with broader WBG and IFC initiatives. The analyst will collaborate with regional and industry teams to map investment, upstream, and advisory activities across the region, assess how these initiatives align with regional objectives, and identify high-impact health interventions where IFC can add unique value. Additionally, the analyst will assist in preparing reporting materials on business performance, development results, and economic updates, as well as reviewing materials related to investment and advisory projects and country/regional strategies.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Business, Finance, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of work experience with a major financial institution, consulting company, or large corporation. Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills is essential, along with excellent writing and oral communication skills. Strong financial, analytical, and modeling skills are required, as well as attention to detail and quality. The candidate should demonstrate excellent teamwork skills, initiative, and the ability to work across organizational boundaries. A high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment are also crucial.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Public Policy, Business, or Finance. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of education and expertise in the relevant disciplines.
Experience: The role requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, ideally gained in a major financial institution, consulting firm, or large corporation. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle complex analytical tasks and support high-level decision-making processes.
