Job Overview:
The Investment Officer (IO) position within the Blended Finance – New Business and Portfolio (CBFNP) division is crucial for supporting IFC’s regional and industry departments. The role involves working across various industries globally, with a specific focus on Financial Institutions Group (FIG) and Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS) in Asia. The IO will serve as the primary contact for blended finance inquiries, facilitating collaboration between blended finance and industry teams. This position requires a strong understanding of financial structuring, enabling the IO to translate the risk tolerance of contributors into effective financial models. The IO will also play a proactive role in project origination, ensuring that IFC presents its best interests to clients. The role demands accountability in deal processing, supervision of project teams, and knowledge management to enhance understanding of the competitive landscape in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Investment Officer will be responsible for several key duties: acting as the blended finance anchor for FIG and MAS Asia, coordinating inquiries and providing advice to operational colleagues; demonstrating technical ability in financial structuring to align contributor risk tolerance with investment needs; proactively assisting project teams in origination efforts; maintaining accountability to the Blended Finance Committee by presenting unbiased financial and impact rationales; supervising project teams to ensure compliance with reporting requirements; monitoring risks associated with projects benefiting from blended finance; originating fundraising efforts for concessional funds; and building knowledge of the competitive landscape regarding blended finance co-investments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MBA or Master's degree, preferably with a specialization in finance or investment. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cross-border emerging market investments is required, with a proven track record in structuring and executing investment transactions across various industries and regions. Familiarity with blended finance transactions and a keen interest in development financing are essential. Candidates should also have experience with IFC's investment and portfolio management processes, as well as knowledge of current challenges and opportunities in blended finance.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have an MBA or a Master's degree, with a strong preference for those specializing in finance or investment. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of blended finance and investment structuring.

Experience:
The position requires at least 10 years of relevant experience, particularly in cross-border emerging market investments. Candidates should have a strong track record of structuring and executing investment transactions, with additional experience in equity investments being a plus. Familiarity with blended finance transactions is essential for success in this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. While additional languages are not specified as required, they may be beneficial in enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
