Job Overview:
The Data Management and Reporting Assistant plays a crucial role in the Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) in Jakarta, Indonesia. This position is integral to the implementation of various projects aimed at enhancing animal health systems and mitigating risks associated with transboundary animal diseases, zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance. The assistant will be responsible for processing and managing data collected from project activities, ensuring that the information is accurate and relevant for analysis. The role involves collaboration with technical teams and national authorities to support the development of survey instruments, technical reports, and general project documentation. The assistant will also contribute to the mainstreaming of gender equality in project implementation and ensure that all documentation is prepared using gender-sensitive language.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Data Management and Reporting Assistant include: collaborating with the Senior Technical Adviser and Field Coordinator to develop survey questionnaires and data collection instruments; gathering and collating accurate data through survey activities; managing data and information effectively, including dataset development, data cleaning, and documentation; preparing survey reports and drafting both English and Indonesian versions of reports; conducting literature reviews to support technical reports; developing descriptive analyses and summarizing technical reports; providing technical assistance to improve data accuracy; supporting ad hoc reports and presenting findings; ensuring gender equality is mainstreamed in project implementation; providing inputs for FAO and donor reports; and preparing an End-of-Assignment report on work carried out.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in veterinary medicine, forest and conservation science, biology, information technology, computer science, statistics, or a related field. A minimum of three years of working experience in wildlife conservation, animal/public health, or relevant wildlife projects is required. Candidates should have a working knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia and must be nationals of Indonesia. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate competencies in results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as veterinary medicine, forest and conservation science, biology, information technology, computer science, or statistics. The degree must be obtained from an institution accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant working experience, particularly in wildlife conservation, animal health, or public health projects. Experience in data management and reporting, as well as familiarity with statistical software, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Candidates must have a working knowledge of both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and reporting within the role.
