Job Overview:
The Intake and Support Worker position is a crucial role within the Leaving Violence Program, where the selected candidate will be responsible for providing empathetic support to individuals who are navigating the challenges of leaving violent relationships. This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work hours, and requires the worker to engage with clients primarily through phone and online communications. The worker will serve as the first point of contact for victim-survivors, conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and connecting clients with appropriate support services. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Intake and Support Worker include answering calls and online inquiries with empathy and professionalism, conducting thorough risk assessments related to family, domestic, and sexual violence, and developing detailed safety plans with victim-survivors. The worker will explain program eligibility and guide clients through the application process, connect them to appropriate support services, and assist with safety planning and mandatory reporting as required. Additionally, the worker will monitor evolving risks and update support plans accordingly, maintain accurate records using Salesforce, and collaborate with colleagues and partner services. The role also involves tracking working time and queue management through systems like Genesys, contributing to program improvements, and being flexible to undertake various functions across the client journey as program needs evolve.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or an equivalent qualification. They should be eligible for registration with at least one professional body such as AASW, ACA, AHPRA, or PACFA. Candidates must also be willing to undergo necessary checks, including a Working with Children Check and a National Police Check, and must have the right to work in Australia. Availability to work between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm in their respective time zone is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of domestic violence and the necessary support mechanisms for victim-survivors. Candidates should have a solid grasp of social work principles and practices, particularly in crisis intervention and support services.

Experience:
Candidates should have proven experience in a support line, intake and triage, crisis response, or high-volume client support role. Additionally, candidates should have experience engaging with culturally diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and must be confident in using client management systems such as Salesforce.
