Job Overview:
The position of Praktikant*in für Kommunikation und Dialogveranstaltungen zur Dachmarke digital.global is situated within the Digital Transformation Cluster of GIZ. This role is designed to promote sustainable, inclusive, and sovereign digital development. The intern will assist in advising political partners and strengthening digital ecosystems in developing and emerging countries. The job entails analyzing, developing, accelerating, and scaling innovative approaches and technologies beyond mere buzzwords. The intern will be involved in equipping partners in the economy, civil society, and politics with the necessary tools to collaboratively find sustainable and context-sensitive solutions to global and local challenges. The overarching brand, digital.global, consolidates various approaches and initiatives, with updates and success stories shared through the website and associated social media channels.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will have a variety of responsibilities, including supporting the implementation of traditional communication measures such as public relations, web/online communication, social media, press work, and (digital) events. You will create and edit journalistic text formats under professional guidance, ensuring appealing visual design in line with the branding of digital.global. Additionally, you will update the German and English content of the bmz-digital.global website and design content for social media channels, particularly LinkedIn. Your role will also involve researching data and facts for various publications and communication measures, assisting in the quality assurance of individual communication offerings, and providing support in advising initiatives within the cluster on communication matters. Furthermore, you will contribute to strategic communication consulting for the BMZ Digital Department and participate in trend scouting for innovations and applications of digitalization in sustainable development.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in communication sciences, political science, social sciences, or information sciences. Previous experience in communication within politics or business, in a newsroom, or in an agency is preferred. Ideally, applicants should have experience in online communication and social media, as well as familiarity with content management systems, particularly WordPress. Strong written communication skills, text security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and an excellent sense of language are essential. The ability to quickly and reliably grasp the relevance of topics and present them understandably to different target groups is crucial. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously are necessary, along with the capability to prioritize tasks and assess resources effectively. A flexible, results-oriented work style and strong teamwork skills are also important.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being currently enrolled in a degree program or in a training program that necessitates the completion of an internship. Alternatively, candidates who have graduated within the last six months are also eligible to apply. This ensures that the intern is actively engaged in their educational journey while gaining practical experience.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have some prior experience, which can be gained through internships or similar roles in communication. This experience should ideally be related to communication in political or business contexts, as well as familiarity with online communication strategies and social media engagement.

Languages:
Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position, with negotiation-level proficiency required. Additionally, very good knowledge of French is considered a desirable asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a multilingual environment.
